About the Founder
Andrea Gartner, a life-long Danbury resident, believes that societal change must start at the community level. To that end, she is involved in the community both personally and professionally.
Her business and personal life are inextricably linked to the future of this area. Over the years, she has spearheaded the transformation of The Ridgefield Playhouse into a regional arts organization; created an enormous array of programs as the Executive Director of CityCenter Danbury furthering the transformation of downtown Danbury; run for public office; opened the consulting firm Gartner & Main; opened the new, modern, fast-fine eatery concept, Pour Me Coffee & Wine Cafe; and purchased both residential and commercial property in downtown.
Her volunteer life includes working with the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut, the Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut, the Regional Advisory Council Naugatuck Valley Community College, the Greater Danbury Area Chamber of Commerce Women’s Business Council, the Danbury Main Street Partnership, the Advisory Council of Housatonic Habitat for Humanity, TEDxDanbury, and the Fairfield County’s Community Foundation.
She sees the diversity of Danbury as the city’s finest attribute, from families who have been here for decades, to first generation residents like her, to millennials educated in local schools and universities who want to build a life here, in a place that feels right to them. She firmly believes that groups can accomplish what individuals would be unable to on their own.
